The following notice pertains to wastewater ONLY. Drinking water is not related and is unaffected:
During a recent Flood Event, there were several areas of the City of Winston, that were inundated with flood waters. High flow created an SSO "Sanitary Sewer Overflow" at Riverbend Park.
Lookingglass Sewer Pump Station, off of Serengeti Dr, was flooded by the high waters coming from Lookingglass Creek and surrounding areas. This created an SSO "Sanitary Sewer Overflow."
Riverbend Park and the Harold and Sid Nichols Boat Ramp were areas that also were affected with flood water overtaking lower Riverbend Park and all of the Boat Ramp parking area and vault toilet.
The Boat Ramp vault toilet is closed until further notice, with "vault toilet" remaining closed until repairs can be made. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this closure. Mass amounts of debris have been removed from both parks and efforts continue in this area.
The Oregon Emergency Response and Department of Environmental Quality were notified of the Sanitary Sewer Overflow.
